Unnatural Hair Colors
Above all, Kelsie thinks your hair should be easy to style and your cut should work with your hair’s natural texture–striking a balance between giving you your ultimate hairstyle and maintaining the health and integrity of your hair. In 2004, after much searching, she went to beauty school, and was lucky enough to have wonderful coworkers and mentors to learn from. Kelsie has extensive training with Goldwell color, becoming a Goldwell Liaison. She’s also taken various cutting, styling and product-knowledge classes with KMS, Rusk, Kevin Murphy, Sachajuan, Oribe and others. For women’s cuts, Kelsie specializes in short styles, thin or fine hair, and curly hair. She also likes bangs, texturized bobs and more avant-garde and disconnected haircuts. For men, Kelsie does mainly scissor-over-comb cutting, but loves a tight fade. She believes that texturizing or thinning is a delicate process, and she’ll pick the method that’s right for you. She’s also great with natural-looking highlights, intense blonde highlights, and grey coverage. Kelsie has done styling for a few fashion shows and loves blow-outs and beachy waves. Believing that a consistent dialogue is helpful in communicating your wants, hopes, loves, and questions about your hair, Kelsie tries to educate you about her cut, color, and styling processes. She loves the diversity of her young and old and single and child-rearing and gay and straight clientele, and encourages all types of people to come see her. Kelsie is proud to be from Portland, and loves exploring all it has to offer, especially the food and music. She sometimes ventures into the woods. Other cities aren’t bad, either. Kelsie also likes fashion, style, and film.
